A SCARECROW Movie Set in Matt Reeves’ THE BATMAN Universe Reportedly in Development

It looks like Matt Reeves’ Batman universe is going to expand a little more with a possible film that will focus on the villain The Scarecrow.

This latest rumor comes from Hollywood insider Daniel Richtman, who says that the movie will be set in the Sam universe as The Batman

There aren’t really any other details to share, but as a fan of The Scarecrow villain, I’m curious and excited to see what these new visions of the character will be in Reeves Batman universe.

My favorite version of The Scarecrow outside of the comics is from Batman: The Animated Series. That show just did all of the Batman villains perfectly! It just set such a high standard! The Batman: Arkham games also did a great job with the villain, and then, of course, there’s Nolan’s Batman Begins, where the character was wonderfully played by Cillian Murphy

If this news does turn out to be true, it’s in early stages of development and it’s a film we won’t see get made for a few more years. Other Batman projects in development from Matt Reeves includes The Batman II, The Penguin series, the series set in Arkham Asylum, and Mike Flanagan pitched a Clayface movie that I’d love to see happen!

It makes me wonder who Reeves might cast in the role of The Scarecrow. Are there any actors you’d like to see play the character?
