Aaron Eckhart To Star in Real Time Action Movie LIVE!
Aaron Eckhart is set to star in Live!, a new independent action film that takes place in real time. The press release claims that the movie will also be shot in real time, although I'm unsure how that will actually work. That can't mean that they're doing the entire movie in one take, can it? If so, that's nuts. (A film called Victoria recently did the same thing.)
Second unit action directors and stunt coordinators Darrin Prescott and Wade Allen, who worked on movies like John Wick, Drive, and The Bourne Ultimatum, will be making their directorial debut on this one, and it certainly sounds like an ambitious way to kick off their directing careers. Written by Jeremy Drysdale, the film "tracks disgraced cop, Kyle Penny (Eckhart), on his hunt to rescue Police Commissioner Volk’s kidnapped daughter, trapped somewhere in the city with only 80 minutes to live. A deranged killer on his heels, Penny’s only hope is teaming with Ava Brooks, an ambitious young online reporter who films the wild chase live."
A movie like this seems like it'll all come down to the execution. I'm excited to see Eckhart step into the lead role (I'm a big fan of his), and this certainly sounds like it'll be an opportunity to do something that's fairly rare for an actor of his caliber.
