Adam Driver Rumored to Be Making a Deal With Marvel for FANTASTIC FOUR

Over the past few days, a rumor has been spreading online that Adam Driver (Star Wars, 65) is in talks to with Marvel Studios to star in Fantastic Four. The report comes from reputable entertainment scooper Daniel Richtman, who says that Driver is currently finalizing a deal with Marvel to play Reed Richards in the movie.

I’ve heard from two of my own sources that this news might actually be legit. But, nothing is official until Marvel makes the official announcement and that announcement will most likely happen this summer at San Diego Comic-Con.

Earlier this year, it was reported that Driver was Marvel's "top casting choice" for the role. Shortly after that, he was apparently meeting with the studio. It’s not surprising as Driver has a strong relationship with Disney, and it’s not hard to imagine him in the role of Richards.

Adam Driver has the acting skills, physical appearance, and range necessary to bring a great version of Reed Richards to life in the MCU. With his talent and experience, he could add a new level of depth and complexity to the character, making him a great addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Reed Richards, also known as Mr. Fantastic, is the head of the Fantastic Four family, a superhero team that gained their powers after being exposed to cosmic rays during a space mission. Richards is known for his incredible intelligence and scientific knowledge, as well as his ability to stretch and contort his body to incredible lengths. Throughout his comic book history, Richards has been involved in some important and great story arcs and has played a crucial role in the Marvel Universe as a whole.

Kevin Feige previously said that Marvel’s first family is going to be a big pillar of the future of the MCU after they’re introduced. He said: “Fantastic Four is the foundation for everything that came after in the comics. There's certainly been versions of it [on screen], but never inhabiting the storytelling of the MCU. And that's something that is really exciting for us. People will start to hear more about that soon. We plan on that being a big pillar of the MCU going forward, just the way they've been in the comics for 50 or 60 years.”

Marvel producer Stephen Broussard previously promised that the film will be a true celebration of the original source material from the comics: “I wouldn’t presume to know everything about that film; I’m not necessarily working on it. But one of the founding principles of Marvel, going back to Iron Man and the casting of Tony that I think has resonated through today, is to embrace the source material and these comics that have been around forever. They’re older than me, and I’m guessing they’re older than you too. They’ve been around for a while for a reason, [so we] lean into that.”

Matt Shakman ( WandaVision) is directing the film, and Jodie Comer has been rumored to be in talks to play Sue Storm. Both Driver and Comer worked together on the Ridley Scott movie, The Last Duel.

Would you like to see Driver take on the role of Reed Richards in Fantastic Four?
