Jodie Comer Addresses Sue Storm Casting Rumors for Marvel's FANTASTIC FOUR

Killing Eve and Free Guy star Jodie Comer is been rumored to have been cast as Sue Storm in Marvel’s Fantastic Four movie. This would be great casting, and it certainly seemed to get fans excited. The big question is… is the rumor true or not!?

During a recent interview with the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Comer addressed the rumor, and as you might expect, if it is true, she’s not going to say anything. When asked about it, she said that she doesn’t really know what’s going on. In response to if she heard about the rumors, she said:

“I am now, after the last year. No. Guys, I don’t know anything about it. I feel like, when I say this, people are like, ‘Okay.’ It’s like you can’t win either way.”

Comer went on to say that she would “never say never” about being a part of the project, but as of right now, she has not been cast in it:

“I think never say never, but right now, no. But I think never say never, right? I think, as I said before, usually when you finish one project, you then wanna try something very different. So, I don’t know, maybe.”

So, if you want to attempt to read between the lines, maybe she and Marvel are still in discussion about the possibility of joining the film, but it’s not set in stone yet. Even if it was set in stone, though, she’s not going to be the one to break the news!

One of the more recent reports to come out on the film is that casting is set to "begin gearing up" in the coming weeks, and the studio is looking to cast Sue Storm first. They will then build the team around her. I wouldn’t be surprised if Comer ended up as Sue Storm. But, you never know until it’s officially announced.

Kevin Feige’s previously said that Marvel’s first family is going to be a big pillar of the future of the MCU. He said: “Fantastic Four is the foundation for everything that came after in the comics…. and that's something that is really exciting for us… We plan on that being a big pillar of the MCU going forward, just the way they've been in the comics for 50 or 60 years.”

I’m excited to see what Marvel ends up doing with this movie. There’s a lot of anticipation from the fans because we all finally want to see a proper Fantastic Four movie!

The film is being directed by Matt Shakman (WandaVision), and it will be the big MCU movie that kicks off Phase 6.
