Adam Sandler Says HAPPY GILMORE 2 Starts Shooting in a Couple of Weeks; Travis Kelce Will Have a Cameo

Adam Sandler has been working on getting a Happy Gilmore sequel off the ground for a long time, and a few months ago we learned that it was actually happening and that Netflix is producing it.

Sandler has now confirmed that Happy Gilmore 2 will start shooting in a couple of weeks in New Jersey. It was also revealed that the cast will include real professional golfers and cameos like Travis Kelce.

While on The Tonight Show, Sandler said: “We’re going to do Happy Gilmore, thank you. This is happening. We’re getting ready to shoot it in New Jersey. We start in a couple weeks.

“It’s good. We worked hard on the script. We didn’t want to let anybody down. People have been asking me for a long time. We’re really excited about it. We wrote our asses off. So many of the golfers are being nice and will be a part of it.”

Kelce, who is breaking into the acting business with an upcoming role in Ryan Murphy’s FX series Grotesquerie, said on his podcast in May that he would do anything to appear in the Happy Gilmore sequel, so it looks like he manifested it.

Sandler talked about Kelse saying: “Travis has… he mentioned it, so we have a nice something for Travis. He’s gonna come by. He’s a very nice guy. You guys would love him in real life. What a big, handsome guy. Funny and cool as hell. He’s a stud and he’s so funny.”

Kelce, who is really only famous for dating Taylor Swift, previously said of Happy Gilmore 2: “I’ll be a f–king extra… anything to get around Happy Gilmore, an Adam Sandler film or set — count me in. I’ll do anything in the movie. I’ll be part of it any way I possibly can.”

In a separate interview with IndieWire, Sandler also revealed that his Uncut Gems director Benny Safdie would also have a role in Happy Gilmore 2, saying:“He’s going to have a juicy part in that.”

I’m just excited that we are going to get a Happy Gilmore 2! It’ll be fun and interesting to see what this great character has been up to after all of these years!
