Adam Savage Learns How Modern Day Stop-Motion Puppets are Made

Adam Savage has released a new video on Tested in which he learns how modern day stop-motion puppets are made. I’m a huge fan of the art of stop-motion animation and the films that they are making these days using that medium are insanely impressive.

There’s so much work that goes into making these movies, the process is tedious, but the results that come from it are unlike anything else being made. I love that it’s all just hand-made art. The video came with the following note:

Adam and master stop-motion animator Tom "Gibby" Gibbons take a deep dive into the making and animation of the Cyclops creature Tippett Studio created for the show Poker Face! From the machined armature on the inside to the hand crafted body and kitbashed parts, Adam learns how processes new and old merge to make these monsters menace on screen.

Check out the video below and let us know what you think about the art of stop-motion animation.
