AHSOKA Season 2 Rumor Suggests Obi-Wan Kenobi Could Reunite With Ahsoka Tano
I’m excited for the return of Ahsoka on Disney+, and a new rumor suggests the upcoming season might feature a pretty incredible reunion from the Star Wars universe.
If the report is accurate, Ahsoka Tano could cross paths with Obi-Wan Kenobi, potentially bringing Ewan McGregor back into the franchise once again.
While nothing has been officially confirmed by Lucasfilm, a small behind-the-scenes detail may have accidentally revealed that McGregor spent time on the set of Ahsoka Season 2.
The rumor comes from Bespin Bulletin, after a YouTuber known as ahappyhealthyhuman shared videos featuring merchandise connected to the Season 2 cast and crew. Most of the items only showed logos and production designs, but the real surprise appeared in a comment response.
When asked about his favorite Star Wars movie, the creator shared the following story:
"The one where I got to have a go in an ATAT was pretty great, but I also really enjoyed the Imperial Star Destroyers. Oh, and when Ewan let me hold Ahsoka’s Lightsaber. That was definitely a favourite Star Wars moment."
That comment has sparked speculation that McGregor may have filmed scenes for the upcoming season. It also lines up with previous rumors claiming he shot material alongside Hayden Christensen, who already returned as Anakin Skywalker in Season 1.
McGregor has been open about wanting to step back into the role of Obi-Wan Kenobi, even hinting in interviews that conversations about future Star Wars appearances have happened.
If he did film scenes for Ahsoka Season 2, it could open the door for a meaningful reunion between Obi-Wan and Ahsoka through the Force.
The next season of Ahsoka is expected to dig deeper into the mythology surrounding the Mortis gods, a mysterious group first introduced in Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Those characters include the Father, Daughter, and Son, cosmic beings tied directly to the balance of the Force.
There has been speculation that Dave Filoni may revisit the storylines explored in the Season 3 episodes “Overlords,” “Altar of Mortis,” and “Ghosts of Mortis,” especially now that the story has moved to the mysterious world of Peridea.
Season 1 ended with some major shifts in the galaxy. Grand Admiral Thrawn made his long-awaited return, arriving back in the main Star Wars galaxy alongside the Dathomirian Great Mothers.
Ezra Bridger also managed to make it home. Unfortunately for Ahsoka Tano and Sabine Wren, they were left stranded on Peridea with no clear way back.
They aren’t completely alone, though. Anakin Skywalker’s Force Ghost appears to be watching over them, and that connection to Anakin could play a big role as the series continues exploring deeper Force lore and the Mortis mythology.
Meanwhile, Thrawn’s storyline may be building toward something even bigger. Some fans believe his rise could eventually connect to the formation of the First Order.
Star Rosario Dawson previously teased that fans will see a slightly different side of Ahsoka when the series returns. After the emotional events of Season 1, the character is beginning to reconnect with a lighter side of herself. Dawson explained:
"She had a more of a strong gravitas at the beginning, and she was a little bit more unflappable And I'm liking that she's relaxing, she's kind of getting back into her joy. I think those moments with Hayden [Christensen] and Anakin were so important for her to heal something so she could be more present."
She added:
"And that's what I'm really enjoying. I think we get to explore that a lot more in the second season. I'm really glad that we get to add more joy into her life and see her relax a little bit more and work in community a little bit more than she has."
Ahsoka Season 2 brings back a strong lineup of characters including Dawson as Ahsoka Tano, Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Hera Syndulla, Ivanna Sakhno as Shin Hati, Eman Esfandi as Ezra Bridger, Christensen as Anakin Skywalker, Rory McCann as Baylan Skoll, David Tennant as Huyang, and Lars Mikkelsen as Grand Admiral Thrawn.
If the Obi-Wan rumors turn out to be true, Season 2 could deliver a pretty cool and emotional reunion!
