Rosario Dawson Says Ahsoka Tano Will Continue “Getting Back Into Her Joy” in AHSOKA Season 2

Rosario Dawson recently opened up about where her Star Wars character Ahsoka Tano is headed in the second season of Ahsoka, and it sounds like the once stoic warrior will be embracing a lighter, more joyful side of herself.

Speaking at Comic-Con Scotland, Dawson shared, “She had a more of a strong gravitas at the beginning, and she was a little bit more unflappable. And I'm liking that she's relaxing, she's kind of getting back into her joy.

“I think those moments with Hayden [Christensen] and Anakin were so important for her to heal something so she could be more present. And that's what I'm really enjoying.

“I think we get to explore that a lot more in the second season… I'm really glad that we get to add more joy into her life and see her relax a little bit more and work in community a little bit more than she has.”

That connection with Anakin Skywalker was a key turning point for Ahsoka in the first season. After losing her duel with Baylan Skoll, she was pulled into the World Between Worlds by her former master, where the two finally reconciled.

When she returned, dressed in a striking all-white outfit, it symbolized her evolution, almost like a Gandalf the White moment for the Star Wars universe.

Hayden Christensen has confirmed he’ll return for Season 2, but Lucasfilm is keeping story details tightly under wraps. What we do know is that Admiral Ackbar will make an appearance and will go up against Grand Admiral Thrawn, setting up a galactic showdown that sounds epic in scale.

Early footage shown behind closed doors at Star Wars Celebration 2025 teased massive battles spanning two galaxies.

Following the passing of Ray Stevenson, Game of Thrones alum Rory McCann is stepping into the role of Baylan Skoll. Fans can also look forward to seeing more of Mary Elizabeth Winstead’s Hera Syndulla, who teased a more action-packed role this time around.

“You know, I'm not sure what I can say, other than I'm in this season a bit more, which is fun,” Winstead said. “I'm definitely in on the action, as you say, quite a bit more, which was great to have a Hera really, kind of like, you know, getting some stuff done.

“So yeah, I honestly, I'm not gonna say much more than that, just because I've not [been] given my guidelines yet. So I'm gonna leave it at that. But it was so much fun. I just finished it, and it was an absolute blast. I loved every minute of it. So I can't wait for people to see it.”

While there’s still no official release date for Ahsoka Season 2, it’s clear the next chapter will focus not only on galactic conflict but on Ahsoka’s personal growth and emotional healing.

Next up for Star Wars fans is Visions Volume 3, landing on Disney+ on October 29, followed by the highly anticipated return to the big screen with The Mandalorian and Grogu.
