Ahsoka Tano Will Reportedly Appear in Lucasfilm's Obi-Wan Kenobi Series As Well
We’ve got more Star Wars series news to share with you today regarding fan-favorite character Ahsoka Tano. Not long after it was reported that Rosario Dawson might be playing the character in multiple Star Wars shows, it was reported that Lucasfilm was working on a solo series for the Ahsoka. Well, now The Illumiderdi is saying that she will also be appearing in the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi series that’s been in development.
The report says, “Ahsoka Tano is being prepped to appear next in the developing Obi-Wan Kenobi series, starring Ewan McGregor. Our initial excitement wasn’t without skepticism, as we know that the series is in the process of rewrites. However, we were assured that she’s currently in negotiations and is expected to have a presence in the upcoming show.”
I think that any Star Wars fan familiar with The Clone Wars and the relationship between Ahsoka and Kenobi will see that it makes complete sense to include her in the series. We don’t know how big of a role that she’ll play in the series, but even if she only appears in one or two episodes, I’m sure fans will be happy to take what they can get.
One thing seems for sure… Lucasfilm has big future plans for the character and it’ll be exciting to see what those plans end up being. It’ll all start with her live-action debut in The Mandalorian Season 2.
Joby Harold, who is known for writing the films Awake and King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, is writing the Obi-Wan Kenobi series and it was previously reported that the new plan was to scale the series back from six episodes to only four to tell the story, and it was also said that the “Kenobi story treaded similar ground as Mandalorian, seeing the Jedi master lending a protective hand to a young Luke and perhaps even a young Leia.” This is a logline that was previously shared:
Tatooine, a desert planet where farmers work hard under the heat of two suns. Meanwhile, they try to defend themselves and their loved ones from the marauders Tusken. A planet behind the edge of civilization. And a place where it would be unlikely to find a Jedi master, or an orphan child on whom the future of the entire galaxy weighs on its small shoulders.
McGregor revealed that the series will start shooting next year, and when talking about the scripts that had been written, he said, “They’re in really good shape. They want them to be better.”
What would you like to see from Ahsoka incorporated into the Obi-Wan series?
