Alexander Skarsgard Is Reportedly Up for the Role of Hawkman in DC's BLACK ADAM

About a year ago it was reported that Hawkman was going to make an appearance in DC’s upcoming film Black Adam. Now a new report has surfaced from The Illuminerdi that is saying Alexander Skarsgard (True Blood, Tarzan) is up for the role of Carter Hall, aka Hawkman.

There’s no confirmation of this and we don’t know if he is actually in talks for the role. But, Skarsgard is the right kind of actor to cast if they are looking to make the character a badass. At 6’4, Skarsgard can certainly give off that intimating warrior vibe, and it's easy to imagine him going toe to toe with Dwayne Johnson, who is playing Black Adam.

Hawkman was a reincarnation of an Ancient Egyptian prince named Khufu. “He discovered that the ‘ninth metal’ could negate the effects of gravity, allowing him to fly. Carter decided to fight crime with his new found ability, so he created a costume which had large wings to help himself control his flight powers in the air. Since Hall was an archaeologist and historian in his everyday life, he took medieval weapons from the museum he worked at to help his fight for justice.”

Jaume Collet-Serra is directing Black Adam, and it’s also expected to feature the big-screen debuts of Cyclone, Stargirl, Hawkgirl, and Dr. Fate. Noah Centineo (To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, The Perfect Date), was recently cast in the role of Atom Smasher. It’ll be interesting to see how they play with Hawkeye in this movie.

We’ll get to learn more about Black Adam during its virtual panel at the DC FanDome event taking place on August 22nd.

Black Adam is currently still scheduled to hit theaters on December 22, 2021. What do you think about the possibility of Skarsgard taking on the role of Hawkman in Black Adam?
