ALIEN: ROMULUS Director Fede Álvarez Wants to Direct a ALIEN VS. PREDATOR Movie, and His Pitch Is Pure Chaos

With Alien: Romulus being a huge hit with fans and Badlands bringing Predator back for more action after the success of Prey, fans are wondering if we will ever get another Alien vs. Predator movie? And, more importantly, will it actually be good if it does happen?

Fede Álvarez, the filmmaker behind Alien: Romulus, certainly has thoughts on that, and if the opportunity presented itself, he’d run with it. While peaking with Collider, Álvarez couldn’t help but drop an enthusiastic F-bomb while pitching his ideal crossover:

"The way I would do it, most likely, if it could be done this way… It’s harder to keep secrets online… The best AVP will be the one that you don’t know is AVP until the other guy shows up.

“You think you’re watching a Predator movie, and then they land in some place and there are creatures, and f–king hell, it’s a Xenomorph. That would get me. ‘F-ck yeah!’ You’d go crazy."

I love the element of surprise with the idea, Instead of marketing a crossover outright, the filmmaker envisions a movie that starts as a straight Predator (or Alien) entry, until, boom! An unexpected facehugger or cloaked hunter shows up, making audiences lose their minds.

The director goes on to say: "Or vice versa, you’re in an Alien movie, and then suddenly a mysterious creature is there, and you can hear that sound, and you see the cloak, and you go, ‘Is that a f–king Predator?’ And then turns out it is. That would be the way to do it, don’t you think? Once you put it in the title, it’s like, ‘Spoiler alert.’"

Yeah, that would be the way to go. But, now that he’s put it out there in the universe, I’ll be looking for it to happen when a Predator or Alien movie is released.

I could totally see Alvarez and Prey director Dan Trachtenberg plotting something behind the scenes for some kind of future project.

So, will Álvarez get his shot at Alien vs. Predator? That’s up to 20th Century Studios. But if he does, it sounds like he’d give fans something awesome.
