Story Details Emerge for the Next PREDATOR Movie BADLANDS
20th Century Studios and director Dan Trachtenberg have started production on the next Predator movie, which is titled Badlands, in New Zealand, and the first story details have emerged.
Elle Fanning is set to star in the movie, which is set "sometime in the future,” and thanks to AvPGalaxy.net, they shared a leaked casting call that offers character and story details.
The logline reads: "A groundbreaking film in which one of the two main storylines delves into the intricate bond of two very different sisters, their familial ties are put to the ultimate test as they pursue divergent paths and missions."
It’s said that the leads of the film will be twin sisters, which means this will be a dual role for Fanning. There’s also more information on these characters.
"The first, Thia, identifies as female or non-binary, open ethnicity, mid 20s – mid 40s. Thia has spent most of her life in a laboratory and is now embarking on her first big adventure in the world.
She is incredibly smart, witty, enthusiastic, and unflappable. She has an innate disregard for danger, not because she’s fearless, but simply because she’s naive. Strong comedy chops required.
The other sister, Tessa, has a militant intensity when it comes to achieving her family’s goals and mission objectives. She will not let anything get in her way, not even her twin sister."
The casting call also mentions that the actress "must be comfortable training for heavy action as well as wearing prosthetics/heavy makeup."
There’s no word on how the Predator will factor into the story, but at some point, it’ll find itself on Earth for a hunt and these twin sisters will most likely face off with it.
Trachtenberg is directing from a script he co-wrote with Patrick Aison. I’m curious to learn more about this Badlands movie.
