AMERICAN HORROR STORY Renewed for Season 14 at FX Following Record-Breaking Streaming Premiere

FX isn’t finished giving horror fans nightmares! American Horror Story has officially been renewed for Season 14, keeping Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk’s long-running horror anthology alive for another round of twisted stories.

The announcement comes just one week before the Season 13 finale, following a massive streaming debut that gave FX plenty of reasons to keep the series going.

The premiere of AHS: 13 delivered the franchise’s biggest streaming launch ever, landing on Nielsen’s Streaming Top 10 chart and becoming Murphy’s biggest premiere on Hulu and Disney+.

The renewal also puts an end to speculation that Season 13 might be the show's final chapter. FX last renewed American Horror Story in January 2020, ordering three additional seasons at once. With that deal covering Seasons 11 through 13, many fans figured ending the horror series on its unlucky 13th season would be a fitting way to go out.

Clearly, FX has other plans. Season 13 has been a particularly ambitious installment, bringing together characters and storylines from across the franchise for a massive crossover event.

Set primarily in New York City, the story revolves around The Apollyon, a mysterious residential building with a portal to Hell lurking in its basement.

The season also brought together an incredible collection of familiar faces, including Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Emma Roberts, Billie Lourd, Gabourey Sidibe, Leslie Grossman, Joey Pollari, and Jessica Lange.

The cast also includes Avantika, Jamie Brewer, Elle Chapman, Berto Colon, Alex Consani, Frances Conroy, Mat Fraser, Seth Gabel, Orlando Jones, Paul Anthony Kelly, John Carroll Lynch, Tig Notaro, Madelaine Petsch, Fedor Steer, Mena Suvari, Zach Villa, and John Waters, among others.

The series returns Thursday with Episodes 11 and 12, leading into the Season 13 finale on Thursday, October 29. Episodes air at 9 p.m. ET/PT on FX and become available on Hulu at 9 p.m. PT.

Since premiering in 2011, American Horror Story has become the longest-running hour-long series in FX history. Over the years, the anthology has taken viewers through haunted houses, witch covens, freak shows, sinister hotels, and even the apocalypse. Somehow, Murphy and Falchuk keep finding new ways to make things weird, disturbing, and entertaining.

Murphy and Falchuk created the series and serve as executive producers, with Ned Martel and Charlie Carver also executive producing Season 13.

FX hasn't revealed what Season 14 will be about or which cast members might return, but the renewal opens the door for another creepy chapter in the franchise.

After 13 seasons of murder, monsters, witches, and supernatural madness, there's still more horror to come.
