AMERICAN PIE's Shannon Elizabeth Joins Kevin Smith's JAY AND SILENT BOB REBOOT

Shannon Elizabeth… now there’s a name that I haven’t heard in a long time! I’m sure many of you remember the actress as Nadia from the American Pie franchise. But she also appeared in Kevin Smith’s Jay and Silent Bob Strikes Back as Justice, so it makes sense that we’d see her show up in Jay and Silent Bob Reboot.

Smith made the announcement on social media and shared a photo of Elizabeth hanging with the director and Jason Mewes.

Elizabeth also shared the news saying, “So I can finally confirm the rumors… So great to be back on set with these two. I love you guys. Thanks for having me back.”

Elizabeth joins the previously cast Joe Manganiello (True Blood), Craig Robinson (The Office), Frankie Shaw (SMILF), Justin Long (Tusk), and Jordan Monsanto, who is a producer of several of Smith’s film projects, Method Man and Redman. Then there are Flash stars Grant GustinTom Cavanagh, and Carlos Valdes,

Saban Films picked up the North American distribution rights to the film, which will follow Jay and Silent Bob on a new adventure, one that can't necessarily be classified as a traditional reboot. Smith previously explained:

"If you remember Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, it was a movie in which Jay and Silent Bob found out Hollywood was making a movie about them so they went cross country to Hollywood to stop that from happening. Jay and Silent Bob Reboot is completely fucking different. In Jay and Silent Bob Reboot, Jay and Silent Bob find out that Hollywood is making a reboot of that old movie that they had made about them, and they have to go cross the country to Hollywood to stop it all over again. it’s literally the same fucking movie all over again. It’s a movie that makes fun of sequels and remakes and reboots while being all three at the same time."

The movie is expected to be released this fall. Kevin Smith will also be sharing production video diaries while he’s shooting the film. You can also see the first official photo from the film here.
