Amid Streaming Popularity of Drama Series SUITS, Creator Aaron Korsh Teams With NBCUniversal to Create Spinoff

Just a few days ago, we reported that the TV series Suits has broken yet another Nielsen streaming record by extending its streak atop the weekly Top 10 to 12 straight weeks. The series originally ran on USA Network from 2011 to 2019 with nine seasons. The show, about a New York law firm, stars Gabriel Macht and Patrick J. Adams, as well as Sarah Rafferty, Rick Hoffman, and Meghan Markle in her final role before becoming a British royal.

Now, with the success and newfound popularity of the series in its streaming debut, the creator, Aaron Korsh, is in development with NBCUniversal to bring a reboot spinoff of sorts to the screen. It’s pretty smart to strike while the iron is hot, and now that the series has a fanbase of both old and new, there’s no doubt it will do well.

Deals are still being negotiated, but Deadline reports the project is expected to be fast-tracked with a serious commitment.

This is not a revival or reboot and, unlike the 2019 Pearson, the new legal procedural is not a spinoff either — it would be a Suits universe series in the vein of the CSI and NCIS franchises featuring new characters in a new location, sources said. Los Angeles is a backdrop considered for the workplace drama.

I would definitely give this new series a shot. I loved the flagship series, and I think they could make another great show in a new city. Will you be tuning in if this moves forward?
