Andy Serkis Reportedly Playing the Villain Knull in VENOM: THE LAST DANCE and Beyond
A new report has surfaced regarding Sony Picture’s Venom: The Last Dance claiming that Andy Serkis is playing the villain Knull.
This news originated from Hollywood insider Daniel Richtman, who also says Serkis is "expected to reprise the role in future Sony/Marvel projects, which means we could be seeing a whole lot more of Knull."
This report is in line with other rumors claiming that Knull will be the main villain of Spider-Man 4, with Venom (Tom Hardy) joining forces with Peter Parker (Tom Holland) to battle the potentially world-ending threat.
But, again, these are all rumors for now and we don’t know for sure what the future plans are for Spider-Man, Venom, or Knull.
What we do know is that Venom: The Last Dance is being marketed as the final film in the franchise, and attempting to mix this Venom franchise with the completely separate Spider-Man franchise could be messy.
We’ll just have to wait and see how all of this plays out. I buy into Serkis playing Knull, but I don’t really buy into the whole Spider-Man 4 crossover thing.
Serkis has been very involved with the Venom franchise as he directed Venom: Let There Be Carnage, which was a big dud.
In The Last Dance, “Tom Hardy returns as Venom, one of Marvel’s greatest & most complex characters, for the final film in the trilogy. Eddie and Venom are on the run. Hunted by both of their worlds and with the net closing in, the duo is forced into a devastating decision that will bring the curtains down on Venom and Eddie's last dance.”
The movie is directed by Kelly Marcel (Fifty Shades of Grey). She also wrote and produced the first two Venom movies. The script of this third film is based on a story that she developed with Hardy.
The Last Dance stars Tom Hardy, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Juno Temple, Rhys Ifans, Peggy Lu, Alanna Ubach, and Stephen Graham.
Watch the trailer and let us know if you’re excited about this third and possibly final Venom movie with Hardy.
Venom: The Last Dance hits theaters on October 25th.
