ARCANE Showrunner Opens Up About Cait and Vi's Extended Sex Scene; Says Releasing it Could "Nuke Our Ratings"

If you watched Arcane Season 2 then you know it included a steamy sex scene between Cait and Vi. It was later revealed that a longer and more graphic version of that scene exists, but it must’ve been too hot for Netflix.

Showrunner and co-creator Christian Linke recently addressed the scene and why it was cut down. He also talked about the possibility of it being released in some form.

The scene featured Vi, fresh off a possible last goodbye with sister Jinx, finding herself locked in a Piltover prison cell. After being set free by Caitlyn, the pair kiss, and then one thing leads to another.

While the intense moment doesn't leave a lot to the imagination, it skirts around it enough to have landed the TV-14 by showing no nudity or explicit acts.

During an interview with Inverse Linke said: "The main challenge was that it pushed our ratings into a place where it really threatened our rating.”

On the possibility of it being made available for fans to watch, he said: "I don’t know if we can actually release it, because if it's still released by us… It exists! I guess it just depends on whether or not they would nuke our ratings. So yeah, I don’t know. Actually, I need to ask about that."

Linke previously revealed that the scene was a "dialed back version." He added: "We got a slap on the wrist for like, 'You're literally just going to be rated mature now?'"
