Art The Clown Star David Howard Thornton From TERRIFIER Wants Play the Joker
Art the Clown star David Howard Thornton, from the Terrifier horror film franchise, has dreams of playing another iconic villainous clown character with DC’s The Joker.
He revealed this bit of information during an interview with GamesRadar+. He said: "The Joker is my favorite villain of all time, and that's a character I would love to play myself one day.
“So hopefully someone like James Gunn gives me the opportunity to tackle that character because I would like to do a lot of fun things with him."
He went on to talk about how the Joker was a big inspiration in his portrayal of Art, amongst many other villains. "I kind of look at Art as being an amalgamation of all the horror icons that came before him.
“There are little bits and pieces of every single one of those characters, from Jason to Pinhead to Freddy, Chucky, Jigsaw, all of them."
He went on to share that he believes Pennywise the Clown from Stephen King’s It is the scariest clown ever, saying: "My scariest one would probably be Pennywise. I mean, he was always my favorite back in the day because it's just that that whole concept of this thing, it feeds off of fear, and it can change its form depending on what scares you the most.”
I have no idea if Gunn will ever give David Howard Thornton the opportunity to play The Joker, but it seems like he’d be able to pull something sinister off. I guess the actor is looking to type-cast himself as a creepy clown.
