As Expected, Jessica Chastain is Confirmed To Be in Talks For IT: CHAPTER 2
Jessica Chastain has been a fan favorite choice to take on the adult version of Beverly Marsh in IT: Chapter 2. Chastain has expressed interest in playing the character, and it doesn't hurt that she's best friends with the director and producer of the film.
Variety is now reporting that the actress is now officially in early negotiations to join the highly-anticipated sequel. Director Andy Muschietti will be back to direct and Gary Dauberman is in the process of writing the script.
With the relationship that Chastain has with the filmmakers, I'll be shocked if she doesn't end up in the role of Beverly. She's such a great actress. She most recently starred in the film Molly's Game, and in my opinion, gave one of the best performances of the year. It's crazy she wasn't nominated for an Oscar.
If Chastain jumps on board, you can expect a bunch of other great actors to follow her lead. There's a good chance that IT: Chapter 2 could end up having an all-star cast. Bill Skarsgard will return to reprise his role of Pennywise the Clown and you can expect the young cast from the first film to return as well for the flashback scenes that will need to be shot. I can't wait to see who else will join them!
Production on the film is expected to start shooting this summer. It will be released in theaters on September 6th, 2019.
