As Expected, Tom Hardy's VENOM Will Be Created Using Motion-Capture and CGI
Most of the superhero movies being made today include a lot of motion capture and CGI work and that won't be any different with the new Venom film that director Drew Goddard is currently developing.
Tom Hardy is set to play Eddie Brock a.k.a. Venom in the film and thanks to Andy Serkis, we've learned that Hardy will be delivering a part of his performance through motion capture when he is Venom.
During an interview with Yahoo UK, Andy Serkis was talking about whether or not motion capture performances deserve their own awards and in the middle of the conversation his said:
"Tom Hardy is playing a new character using performance capture."
Yeah, I know he doesn't come right out and say the new character is Venom, but good ol' common sense can fill the gap.
Regardless of how the character is brought to life, I'm excited to see what Hardy has planned for the character! I'm also excited to see what this new film version of the character will look like. I thought Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 3 did a solid job with the character design, but I'm sure this new film will give us something drastically different.
This first photo from the set of the film was released recently as the film has just started production. The film is set to open October 5th, 2018.
