AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY Cast Assembles for a Fun Star-Studded Silence Your Phones PSA
Marvel Studios has found a pretty fun way to tell audiences to put their phones away. A new Avengers: Doomsday theater PSA brings together Avengers, X-Men, Wakandans, Thunderbolts, and the Fantastic Four, all suited up to remind moviegoers that maybe the group chat can wait until after the credits.
If you're heading to theaters this weekend to catch Avengers: Endgame: Encore, there's a good chance you'll see the PSA before the movie, and Marvel packed an impressive amount of star power into it.
The video features M'Baku (Winston Duke), Namor (Tenoch Huerta Mejía), U.S. Agent (Wyatt Russell), Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen), Mystique (Rebecca Romijn), Falcon (Danny Ramirez), Mister Fantastic (Pedro Pascal), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Captain America (Anthony Mackie), Red Guardian (David Harbour), Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan), Gambit (Channing Tatum), Shuri (Letitia Wright), Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh), Shang-Chi (Simu Liu), and Cyclops (James Marsden).
Marvel Studios is going big with the marketing for what will likely be one of the year's biggest theatrical releases, so expect plenty more Doomsday material to continue to roll out.
According to Daniel Richtman, new Avengers: Endgame: Encore content will be released daily for the foreseeable future. It's unclear exactly what that means, particularly since Marvel has already been regularly dropping posters and promotional material across social media.
There are also rumblings that another Avengers: Doomsday trailer could be coming soon. For now, the footage playing in theaters remains the same Special Look that Marvel released during last month's D23 event.
The Endgame rerelease also carries some personal significance for Avengers: Doomsday director Anthony Russo, who recently spoke about getting the 2019 blockbuster back onto the big screen after the theatrical industry went through such a major shift during the pandemic.
"The timing of Avengers: Endgame was remarkable in a lot of ways, not the least of which was [that it was] followed months later by COVID," Russo said.
"That changed theatergoing in such a profound way, as we all know. To be able to see that theatrical experience regain strength and vigor over the years since then has been really important to us and very inspiring."
He added: "So the fact that we can go back and bring Endgame to theaters again and tie into that moment before the theatrical experience was disrupted, I think there’s a layer of power in that. I feel very grateful for it,"
