AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY Leak Offers a New Look at Sentinels
When Avengers: Doomsday was filming last year, several set photos sparked a lot of discussion among Marvel fans after what appeared to be pieces of giant Sentinel robots were spotted sticking out of the ground.
The images seemed to show parts of the iconic mutant-hunting machines, including their feet and chest plates, leading many to speculate that the X-Men villains would have a role to play in the upcoming Marvel epic.
Not long after those photos surfaced, rumors began circulating that Doctor Doom, played by Robert Downey Jr., would somehow bring the Sentinels back online and unleash them against Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.
A recently leaked video appeared to add some weight to those claims, and now fans have an even better look at what may be waiting for them in the film.
A new screenshot taken from the leaked footage has made its way online in much higher quality than the original pixelated clip. While the image still isn’t crystal clear, it offers the best look yet at one of the Sentinels featured in the leak.
The robot appears battle-damaged, with part of its face missing, but what’s especially interesting is how closely the design resembles its comic book counterpart.
The Sentinels were a major presence throughout the original X-Men animated series and became some of the franchise’s most recognizable villains. They’ve appeared in live-action before, most notably in X-Men: Days of Future Past, but many fans felt that version strayed too far from the classic comic-inspired look.
Of course, there’s still no official confirmation that the leaked footage is legitimate. That said, comparisons between the new image and previously released set photos have made the connection difficult to ignore.
Marvel Studios has yet to issue any takedown notices related to the footage or screenshots. While some fans have pointed to that as evidence that the material could be fake, studios don’t always move to remove leaked content immediately. In some cases, taking action can actually draw more attention to a leak and effectively confirm its authenticity.
Whether these Sentinels end up serving Doctor Doom or play another role entirely remains a mystery for now. But if the leaked footage is genuine, Marvel appears to be embracing a design that should make comic book fans very happy.
Avengers: Doomsday is set to hit theaters on December 18, 2026, while Avengers: Secret Wars will follow on December 17, 2027.
