AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY Reactions Call It the “Greatest Superhero Movie of All Time”
Marvel Studios hasn’t even dropped a proper trailer for Avengers: Doomsday yet, but early reactions are slipping out, and the people who’ve seen it aren’t holding back. If these first impressions are any indication, this movie might be aiming for the same level of impact as Infinity War and beyond.
Word started spreading after X user James Mack shared that he has been “hearing a lot of praise for Avengers Doomsday.” He added that “it feels like a comic book event brought to life, the greatest superhero movie of all time.”
It doesn’t stop there. Insider @MyTimeToShineHello revealed that Kevin Feige and select Marvel staff were shown a pre-reshoot version of the film.
According to the insider, they “were very pleased with it, some even called it the best Marvel movie yet.” That kind of internal reaction says a lot, especially considering how carefully Marvel usually guards expectations.
Film commentator Robert Meyer Burnett even compared the early buzz to what surrounded Avengers: Infinity War back in 2018.
The Avengers: Doomsday project originally started as The Kang Dynasty with Destin Daniel Cretton attached to direct. Marvel shifted gears in a big way, moving away from Kang and centering the story around Doctor Doom instead. That change also brought back Anthony Russo and Joe Russo to direct, reuniting them with the franchise they helped define.
Then came one of the wildest casting moves Marvel has made in years. Robert Downey Jr. is returning to the MCU, but this time, he’s stepping into the role of Victor Von Doom. Fans had mixed reactions at first, but curiosity has kept the conversation going strong.
Marvel has been working hard to get this movie right, and it’s set for release on December 18. They’ve also created a full year gap before the follow-up, Avengers: Secret Wars, which lands on December 17, 2027. No other Marvel films are set between them. So, this two-part movie event designed to dominate the conversation.
The expectations for this film are high, and they are sure to get higher the more that we see from the film. Hopefully, the movie actually delivers and meets those expectations.
