AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY Rumor Reveals a Strange Doctor Doom Family Twist Tied to the Fantastic Four
Doctor Doom might have more than a superhero rivalry to worry about in Avengers: Doomsday. A new rumor suggests the MCU's next major villain has a wife and son, and one of their names has a pretty wild connection to the Fantastic Four.
According to X user @HablemosdecineX, Victor von Doom's wife will appear in the upcoming Marvel film, and her name is Valeria. The scooper shared, “I’ve just been told that yes, we will see Victor Von Doom’s wife in Avengers Doomsday,” while also claiming that Doom has a son named Malachi.
Marvel Studios hasn't confirmed any of this, but the name Valeria is particularly interesting for Fantastic Four fans.
In Marvel Comics, Valeria Richards is the daughter of Reed Richards, aka Mister Fantastic, and Sue Storm, the Invisible Woman. She's also got an unusual relationship with Doctor Doom, despite his bitter rivalry with her parents.
Doom actually helped deliver Valeria when she was born and eventually became her godfather. It's one of the more fascinating aspects of his comic book arc, showing that his relationship with the Richards family is considerably more complicated than simply wanting to destroy Reed.
Of course, the rumored Valeria in Avengers: Doomsday could be someone entirely different. There's no indication that Doom's wife is supposed to be Valeria Richards, and Marvel could simply be borrowing the name as a nod to the comics.
Then there's the mysterious Malachi, who is supposedly Doom's son. Nothing has been revealed about what role he might play, but the possibility of Doom having a family opens up some interesting storytelling opportunities.
We've seen plenty of Doctor Doom as the brilliant, power-hungry villain who considers himself superior to everyone around him. Seeing him as a husband and father could give audiences a different perspective on the character, especially if his family plays a part in what drives his actions.
Robert Downey Jr. is taking on the role of Victor von Doom in Avengers: Doomsday, which will also bring the Fantastic Four into the larger Marvel superhero conflict.
If the rumor turns out to be accurate, Doom's connection to the Richards family could become more personal than anyone expected. It would also be an interesting way for Marvel to pull elements from the comics while putting its own spin on the characters.
For now, it's all unconfirmed, so we'll have to see whether Valeria and Malachi actually appear in the film.
Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled to hit theaters on December 18, 2026.
