AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY Rumor Teases Final Act Cameos, Two Post-Credits Scenes, and a Big Steven Rogers Twist

If the latest Avengers: Doomsday rumor is even remotely accurate, Marvel Studios may be preparing to throw just about everything it has at the screen for the film’s finale.

Another supposed plot breakdown making the rounds on social media claims to reveal major details from the final act, including several surprise cameos, the death of a longtime MCU hero, Doctor Doom’s twisted new world, and two post-credits scenes pointing directly toward Avengers: Secret Wars.

Obviously, this should be taken with a massive grain of salt. Plot leaks like this can contain legitimate information mixed with speculation, outdated material, or complete nonsense. We won’t know how much of it is accurate until Avengers: Doomsday arrives in December.

With that warning out of the way, this rumor gets pretty wild.

According to the alleged breakdown, the climactic battle takes place in Latveria, where the Multiverse’s surviving heroes unite against Doctor Doom and an army of Doombots.

Deadpool reportedly joins the fight with a team that includes Tom Holland’s Spider-Man and Captain Marvel. Doom apparently has a few surprises of his own, including a Hulk Variant who ends up battling The Thing.

The rumor goes on to claim that Bucky Barnes is killed by Doctor Doom in cold blood. That’s a rumor we’ve heard before, and If true, that would give Doom a major MCU casualty and bring Bucky’s long-running story to a pretty brutal conclusion. The thing is, we’ve also heard, “everyone dies”, so…

The Multiverse itself apparently doesn’t fare much better. Doomsday reportedly ends with the destruction of the Multiverse and introduces the world that will lead into Avengers: Secret Wars. This is where the rumored plot details get especially interesting.

Sue Storm, Franklin Richards, and Valeria Richards are said to become Victor Von Doom’s family on Battleworld. Doom rules this new reality from his throne, with Namor and the Thor Corps serving him.

Then there’s Steve Rogers. Doom reportedly transforms Steve into “Captain HYDRA,” putting one of the MCU’s greatest heroes under the control of its new ruler. Not sure why HYDRA has anything to do with anything in the MCU anymore, but maybe it’s just “Evil Cap.”

Doom’s kingdom also supposedly contains the remains of Avengers Tower and the Baxter Building, which could add fuel to theories that The Void somehow factors into the creation of Battleworld.

That’s already plenty to leave fans thinking about, but Marvel may have a couple more surprises waiting after the movie ends.

The first rumored post-credits scene reveals that Wolverine and Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man survived the destruction of the Multiverse. More importantly, both apparently retain their memories from before Battleworld was created.

That will make them incredibly important once Secret Wars begins. If Battleworld’s inhabitants accept Doom’s reality as their own, characters who remember what existed before could be among the few people capable of figuring out what actually happened.

The second post-credits scene reportedly brings back Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlet Witch, who appears alongside “other heroes.”

There’s a lot packed into this rumor. Some of that sounds plausible. Some of it sounds absolutely bonkers. Until Marvel actually puts the movie in front of us, it all belongs firmly in rumor territory.

Still, if even half of this turns out to be accurate, Avengers: Doomsday could end with one hell of a cliffhanger.

Avengers: Doomsday arrives in theaters December 18.
