AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY Villains Reportedly Revealed Along with a Big Scarlet Witch Update

The Avengers: Doomsday rumors continue to roll in and this latest one puts the spotlight on Earth's Mightiest Heroes possibly facing off against dark multiversal versions of themselves.

According to insider @MyTimeToShineH, "The Avengers will fight evil versions of themselves" in the upcoming blockbuster.

While the details remain scarce, this raises the intriguing possibility of Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. returning to play twisted counterparts of their iconic characters. For example, we could see Evans also playing Captain Hydra.

A villainous lineup like this would certainly provide an interesting and unique challenge for the Avengers. While there's no confirmation of these specific appearances yet, the concept of these fan-favorite heroes battling dark variants could be really cool.

There’s also a newer scooper, @BeyondReporter, who has hinted at the return of Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlet Witch in Avengers: Doomsday. This source previously broke the news of Creature Commandos securing a second season, lending some credibility to their claim.

For fans, this could be a thrilling comeback after Wanda's dramatic turn in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Whether Wanda will be an ally or an antagonist remains to be seen. Maybe she’ll be both!

This isn’t the first time we’ve heard that Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch could be in Avengers: Doomsday, as it’s rumored that she could be Doctor Doom’s lover in the story.

When the Multiverse Saga was first announced, fans hoped for exactly this kind of exploration of Variants, iconic characters reimagined with an evil twist.

It was previously reported that the movie will feature an “overwhelming number of variants” and that several actors will pull "double duty" in Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars.

It was also reported at the time that "Evans could be portraying another character in the movie that stands alongside [Robert Downey Jr.s'] Doctor Doom." So, it will be really interesting to see if there is any truth to these rumors.

With Marvel Studios keeping details under wraps, these rumors remain unconfirmed. Still, the idea of evil Avengers and the Scarlet Witch’s return is enough to stoke anticipation for this highly anticipated film.

Avengers: Doomsday is set to be released in May 2026, with Avengers: Secret Wars scheduled to arrive in May 2027.
