Awesome AHSOKA Season 2 Trailer Reunites Ahsoka and Anakin as Thrawn Declares War
The first trailer for Ahsoka Season 2 has arrived, bringing Rosario Dawson back as the fan-favorite Star Warsw character while teasing the return of Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker.
At the same time, Grand Admiral Thrawn is making his move against the Rebels, setting the stage for what looks like a much bigger and more dangerous chapter of the Star Wars story. Ahsoka is gonna need some help from her old Master.
Ahsoka’s Journey has been a pretty wild one to watch unfold. The character was introduced as Anakin Skywalker's Padawan in the animated Star Wars: The Clone Wars movie before becoming one of the central characters of the long-running series.
She later returned in Star Wars Rebels, where her story became even more closely connected to Ezra Bridger, Sabine Wren, and Grand Admiral Thrawn.
Ahsoka finally made the jump to live-action when Dawson took on the role in The Mandalorian. That appearance eventually opened the door for her own Disney+ series and brought several major Rebels characters into live-action along with her.
Natasha Liu Bordizzo plays Sabine Wren, Mary Elizabeth Winstead stars as Hera Syndulla, Eman Esfandi takes on the role of Ezra Bridger, and Lars Mikkelsen plays the wonderfully sinister Grand Admiral Thrawn.
Season 1 also featured Ariana Greenblatt as young Ahsoka, Ivanna Sakhno as Shin Hati, Genevieve O’Reilly as Mon Mothma.
Seeing Ahsoka and Anakin together again was one of the highlights of the first season, and Season 2 bringing that relationship back into the story is one of the things I'm most excited about.
There are so many interesting directions that reunion could take. Anakin's presence gives the series an emotional connection to Ahsoka's past while her fight against Thrawn pushes her toward an increasingly dangerous future. Watching those two sides of her life collide is exactly the kind of Star Wars storytelling I want from this show.
Season 2 will also feature a major change involving Baylan Skoll. The character was originally played by Ray Stevenson, who died in May 2023 at the age of 58. Following his death, Rory McCann, best known for playing The Hound on Game of Thrones, stepped into the role.
It's going to be interesting to see how McCann carries the character forward, particularly after the mysterious place Baylan found himself in at the end of Season 1.
Then there's Thrawn. The Grand Admiral's return has been hanging over this corner of the Star Wars universe for years, and Season 2 appears ready to finally unleash him as a major military threat.
With Thrawn declaring war on the Rebels, the series has an opportunity to deliver something much larger in scale while continuing the character-driven stories established in the first season.
As a huge fan of Ahsoka and the story the series is telling, and this first footage looks awesome! Seeing Ahsoka and Anakin sharing the screen again while Thrawn launches his war is extreamly exciting!
I can't wait to watch Ahsoka Season 2 and see what it delivers when the series returns to Disney+ on January 20, 2027.
