Awesome Trailer For Netflix's Martial Arts Animated Series BLUE EYE SAMURAI From The Writer of LOGAN
The first trailer has dropped for Netflix’s upcoming original animated project Blue Eye Samurai, and it looks pretty freakin’ cool! The series centers on a samurai in Japan's Edo period who is out for revenge, and I’m impressed with what I’m seeing in this awesome trailer. I’m excited to watch this!
The show is described as a “provocative and visually stunning cinematic series” that “immerses the viewer in a world of vivid adult animation with a live-action edge. Set in Edo-period Japan, Blue Eye Samurai follows Mizu (voiced by Maya Erskine), a mixed-race master of the sword who lives a life in disguise seeking the deliverance of revenge.”
The series was created by writer Michael Green, who previously worked on high-profile projects such as Logan and Blade Runner 2049, so we know the script and story is going to be solid.
Blue Eye Samurai will include an impressive voice cast that includes George Takei, Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, Masi Oka, Randall Park, Darren Barnet, and Brenda Song.
When the project was first announced, creators Michael Green and Amber Noizumi shared in a statement: "Our story is a larger-than-life action-adventure that takes place 400 years ago, yet Blue Eye Samurai's themes are of the moment and the inspiration is deeply personal. We are grateful for Netflix's passion for this story and for their bold vision for sophisticated animated drama."
Producers also brought on Mulan director Jane Wu to help develop the series. Blue Eye Samurai will be released on November 3rd.
