Awesome Trailer for THE EAST PALACE Unleashes a Supernatural Korean Ghost-Slayer Adventure
Netflix has released the full trailer for The East Palace, and this Korean fantasy horror series looks like it's going to deliver plenty of supernatural action, creepy spirits, and palace intrigue.
If you're into ghost stories mixed with sword fights, ancient curses, and dark mysteries, this series should definitely be on your radar.
Created entirely in Korea, The East Palace is set to premiere worldwide on Netflix on July 17, 2026, and the latest trailer offers an exciting look at the show's eerie world where the living and the dead are separated by a very thin line.
The story follows Nam Joo-hyuk as Gu-cheon, a legendary ghost-slayer who moves freely between the human world and the Realm of Gwi. Armed with a blade capable of cutting down evil spirits, he's called upon to investigate a terrifying curse that has taken hold inside the royal palace.
Joining him is Roh Yoon-seo as Saeng-gang, a court lady with a remarkable gift that allows her to hear the voices of the dead. Together they're pulled into a deadly mystery filled with restless spirits, hidden histories, political secrets, and an ancient curse that threatens the royal family.
The official synopsis explains: “When the crown prince is found dead in a pond, a chilling rumor paralyzes the palace: the pond spirit has returned to wipe out the King’s bloodline.
“The King (Cho Seung-woo) fiercely dismisses the killings as mere conspiracy, until his last remaining son, Prince Yeongan collapses. Driven to total desperation, the King secretly summons Gu-cheon (Nam Joo-hyuk), who can traverse the Realm of Gwi and defeat them.
“To ensure his loyalty, the King pairs him with Saeng-gang (Roh Yoon-seo), a court lady born with the ability to hear spirits. Gu-cheon embarks on the life-or-death mission to destroy the spirit and lift the curse of the East Palace, or die within its walls.
“But as Gu-cheon hunts the spirit and Saeng-gang secretly spies on his every move, the two draw closer to uncovering the dark truth of the East Palace that lies beneath the pond.
The trailer teases some fantastic-looking supernatural creatures, stylish action sequences, and an atmosphere packed with creepy imagery. It also looks like Gu-cheon and Saeng-gang will eventually find themselves venturing into a terrifying spirit realm as they search for the truth buried beneath the palace pond.
I'm really digging the blend of Korean mythology, horror, fantasy, and mystery. It has the ingredients for a fun supernatural adventure, and the visuals look fantastic.
