BATMAN: MASK OF THE PHANTASM Gets an Awesome Remastered 4K Trailer
It was recently announced that Batman: Mask of the Phantasm was getting a remastered 4K UltraHD release, and now today we’ve got a 4K trailer for you to watch and it looks glorious! I would love it if this movie actually got a theatrical re-release! It deserves it! So many people haven’t seen this movie on the big screen and with the 4K remaster for its 30th anniversary, it’s the perfect opportunity!
Batman: Mask of the Phantasm is considered to be one of the best, if not the best Batman movie by a lot of fans. In the film: "When a woman from Bruce Wayne's past, Andrea Beaumont, comes back into his life, Bruce questions whether he should continue protecting Gotham City as Batman. But his introspection is short-lived when the city's most notorious crime bosses are killed, and the Caped Crusader is blamed for their murders. The Dark Knight sets out to clear his name, revealing a new masked vigilante: the Phantasm."
The upcoming 4K release includes a new special feature, “Kevin Conroy: I am the Knight,” which pays tribute to the late actor who voiced the Dark Knight in Batman: The Animated Series and other projects for decades.
Alongside Conroy, the movie also stars Dana Delany as Andrea Beaumont, Bob Hastings as Commissioner Jim Gordon, Efrem Zimbalist Jr. as Alfred Pennyworth, Robert Costanzo as Detective Harvey Bullock, and Mark Hamill as the Joker. They are joined by Hart Bochner as corrupt Gotham City councilman Arthur Reeves; Abe Vigoda as aged gangster Sal "The Wheezer" Valestra; Dick Miller and John P. Ryan as mobsters Chuckie Sol and Buzz Bronski; and Stacy Keach as Carl Beaumont, Andrea's father.
When previously talking about the film for its 25th anniversary, Batman franchise producer Michael Uslan said: "If, like me, you believe there are 10 elements that make a great film, and that they are: story; story; story; story; story; story; character; character; character; and story; then, arguably, Batman: Mask of the Phantasm may be the greatest Batman film ever in the media.”
Batman: The Mask of the Phantasm will be available as a 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray + Digital combo pack on September 12th.
