Beautiful Concept Art Surfaced For The Studio Ghibli Theme Park

Last year it was announced that a Studio Ghibli theme park was in development. The park will be located near Nagoya, Japan in Aichi Prefecture on a 200-hectare plot of land. We now have a series of concept art to share with you giving us a look at what the design teams are planning.

The theme park isn't going to be filled with crazy rides or anything. The main focus will be to allow visitors to enjoy and relax in the Studio Ghibli worlds. People will be able to enjoy the nature and the atmosphere of it all. It actually sounds very peaceful.

According to NHK, the main gate will remind park goers of 19th-century structures out of Howl’s Moving Castle, like the image above, as well as a recreation of Whisper of the Heart’s antique shop. There is also going to be a Princess Mononoke Village and a Witch Valley that will include attractions for Howl’s Moving Castle and Kiki’s Delivery Service.

There will also be a Big Ghibli Warehouse filled with a collection of Ghibli themed play areas as well as exhibition areas and small movie theaters.

The park will open in 2022, and if I ever make it out to Japan one day, I will have to go!
