Behind the Scenes Video on Set of Live-Action/CGI LILO & STITCH Gives Fans an Idea of the Movie's Vibe
A behind-the-scenes video has been released from the set of Disney’s latest live-action/CGI film adaptation, Lilo & Stitch. The video lets fans in on the look and feel of the film, and we get a peek at Lilo, Stitch, the fun little car they’ll be riding around in, and the beautiful Hawaiian setting in which the film is taking place.
Original Lilo & Stitch director and Stitch voice actor Chris Sanders has been brought back to star in the role of Stitch in the film, and he joins Maia Kealoha, who is playing Lilo; Billy Magnussen as the one-eyed alien Pleakley, Sydney Elizabeth Agudong (NCIS) as Nani, Lilo’s older sister and legal guardian; the original voice of Nani, Tia Carrere, will be portraying a new character named Mrs. Kekoa; while actress Amy Hill, who played Mrs. Hasagawa in the animated movie and series, will play a new character named Tūtū; and Zach Galifianakis is confirmed to be playing Stitch’s scientist creator, Jumba.
In the film, “Lilo is a lonely Hawaiian girl who adopts a small ugly ‘dog,’ whom she names Stitch,” reads the original animated film’s synopsis. “Stitch would be the perfect pet if he weren’t in reality a genetic experiment who has escaped from an alien planet and crash-landed on Earth. Through her love, faith, and unwavering belief in ohana, the Hawaiian concept of family, Lilo helps unlock Stitch’s heart and gives him the ability to care for someone else.”
Dean Fleischer Camp (Marcel the Shell With Shoes On) is directing the remake that will be a major release on Disney+. Chris Kekaniokalani Bright wrote the script for the adaptation.
