Disney's LILO & STITCH Movie Casts Newcomer Maia Kealoha in The Role of Lilo
Disney has found its Lilo! The studio has cast newcomer Maia Kealoha in its live-action remake of Lilo & Stitch. She will join the previously cast Zach Galifianakis (The Hangover), who will be taking on the role of the alien character Pleakley.
Pleakley is a member of the Galactic Federation who reluctantly became Jumba Jookiba's partner as an "Earth expert" and was forced to assist him in capturing the escaped Experiment 626 a.k.a. Stitch.
The Hawaiian-set movie is being directed by Marcel the Shell With Shoes On filmmaker Dean Fleischer-Camp and it tells the story of the bond formed between a lonely young girl named Lilo and a lovable, yet dangerous alien named Stitch, who was engineered to be a force of destruction. The central theme of the film is the bond of family, but the story also includes Lilo and Stitch on the run from pursuing aliens and social workers.
The young girl cast in the role of Lilo looks absolutely adorable, and she’s a perfect fit for the role! There’s no doubt that she is crazy excited about the opportunity to bring this character to life!
