Ben Affleck and Casey Affleck's Reps Clear Up All This Batman Confusion
Ben Affleck seemed to make it very clear at Comic-Con this year that he was thrilled and excited to be playing Batman for Warner Bros. It also seemed like he was very much looking forward to working with director Matt Reeves on The Batman. Then his brother Casey Affleck threw fans for a loop when he said:
"But he’s not going to do that movie, I don’t think. Sorry to say."
I saw a lot of fans and media outlets take this as fact, but it's not. The reps of both actors have made statements clearing up any confusion that this has caused, and Ben Affleck will continue to play the dark Knight.
Obvoiusly the actors don't want to deal with the backlash of this comment, so Casey's rep told Buzzfeed:
“He was having fun with the folks at the Red Sox game — where he threw out the first pitch in support of the Jimmy Fund — and not speaking from a place of firsthand knowledge.”
Then Ben's rep came out and said that nothing has changed, and that "he'll continue to be Batman as long as the studio will have him."
So there you go. Ben is going to be playing Batman for as long as the studio wants him in the role. So... if Reeves ends up making his Batman trilogy, it's a safe bet that Ben will be there to carry the franchise forward!
