Ben Stiller Says He and Tom Cruise Have Talked About the Les Grossman TROPIC THUNDER Sequel

Tropic Thunder was released all the way back in 2008, but fans are still hoping for a sequel. The film’s writers continue to tease talks about another film set in this universe, with Justin Theroux saying just a couple of weeks ago that everyone involved is hoping to make it happen.

Now, the film’s co-writer, director and star, Ben Stiller has given fans an update during a recent interview with Esquire, while promoting his upcoming sequel Meet the Parents 4. When asked if another movie set in the Tropic Thunder universe is in our future, Stiller responded:

“Yeah definitely. I don’t know if it would be a Tropic Thunder sequel, per se, but something in that world, definitely. Tom and I have talked about it. Look, having made a bunch of sequels, it’s like with Fockers—you just want to make sure there’s a reason to do it and that you can do something that’s worthy of those characters. That’s always the challenge.”

When asked what he thinks Grossman is up to these days, Stiller quipped, “I think Les Grossman is going to buy Netflix.”

It would definitely be fun to see what the eccentric Tom Cruise character is up to these days. Hopefully we will get to if/when the film comes together!
