BLACK PANTHER's Ryan Coogler Teams With THE BATMAN: PART II Writer For Film Adaptation of A VICIOUS CIRCLE
Universal Pictures acquired the rights to the Boom! Studios graphic novel series A Vicious Circle, created by Terminator Zero showrunner and The Batman: Part II Mattson Tomlin and artist Lee Bermejo. Black Panther director Ryan Coogler is producing the project.
A Vicious Circle is described as “John Wick meets Looper” and “a two-hander action thriller about assassins from the future hunting each other through time.”
In the story, “Shawn Thacker is a trained assassin from the future who seeks revenge on the only other man with his affliction—each life they take forces them both to involuntarily travel between vastly different past and future eras.
“Spanning from 22nd century Tokyo to 1950s New Orleans to the Cretaceous Era and beyond, the two mortal rivals are locked in a battle of wills that spans millions of years, all to alter the course of history.”
The first issue of the series was nominated for two Eisner Awards, including best single issue/one shot and best painter/multimedia artist for Bermejo.
