Box Office Projections for AVENGERS: ENDGAME Suggesting Biggest Opening Weekend of All Time
In the most shocking news ever, the box office projections are predicting that Avengers: Endgame is going to have an opening weekend so huge that it will break all the records and have the biggest opener of all time! Duh. We are three weeks from opening, and I already bought our tickets, to a showing that is already half full, after looking at other showings that were nearly sold out.
There is so much mystery and intrigue surrounding this Marvel Cinematic Universe 22 movie finale, and so much resolution to be had, that everyone feels like they need to see this movie as soon as possible so that their friends, family, co-workers, some jerk on social media doesn’t ruin it for them. We want to have the full moviegoing experience that will wrap a bow on the culmination of what has been building for the last 11 years.
So when we reported that Fandango announced the pre-sale had already broken all previous records in less than a day, we knew this was obviously going to just continue to be big! Slashfilm reported that:
According to Deadline, “conservative estimates have the latest Marvel movie taking in somewhere between $200 million-$250 million, but after this week’s boffo ticket sales, some analysts are now saying the movie could rake in $260 million.”
If so, it would be the “highest-grossing domestic opening of all-time” – beating Avengers: Infinity War, which opened with $257.6 million. And if you want to get really crazy, there’s even a chance Endgame could open closer to $300 million.”
That’s crazy! But, like I said, not surprising in the least bit. It makes me super excited to see it opening night to a sold out crowd with all the other mega-fans around me. Have you got your tickets yet? What day and city are you attending in?
