Brad Pitt Gets His Hands Dirty in New Trailer for David Fincher’s THE FURTHER MIS-ADVENTURES OF CLIFF BOOTH
Cliff Booth is back, and Hollywood has a whole new collection of problems for him to deal with. Netflix has released a new full trailer for The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth, bringing Brad Pitt back as the laid-back stuntman who knows how to handle himself when things get ugly.
This time, he’s cleaning up Hollywood’s messes in 1977, with David Fincher directing from a script by Quentin Tarantino. The film picks up eight years after the events of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, when Cliff had his unforgettable encounter with the Manson family.
Those days are long gone, and the Hollywood of 1977 is a different place. Cliff has traded stunt work for a job as a studio fixer, taking care of the scandals, secrets, and criminal trouble that the entertainment industry would rather keep out of the public eye.
The new trailer gives us a much better look at what Cliff is getting himself into, including an actor who apparently expects him to do a lot more than serve as a stunt double. Murder, blackmail, theft, and extortion are all part of the job now, and Cliff seems like exactly the kind of guy you'd want handling that sort of trouble.
What makes this sequel so exciting is the creative team of Fincher and Tarantino. Tarantino created the character and wrote the new screenplay, while Fincher brings his own filmmaking style to the world of 1970s Los Angeles. It's a pretty awesome pairing.
Fincher also a strong history with Pitt, having previously worked together on Se7en, Fight Club, and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Watching them reunite for a Tarantino-written crime story about Hollywood's shady business should be a lot of fun.
The cast also includes Elizabeth Debicki, Scott Caan, Carla Gugino, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Peter Weller, Corey Fogelmanis, JB Tadena, and Karren Karagulian.
I'm curious to see how Fincher approaches this character. Tarantino gave us a Hollywood fairy tale with Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, but this follow-up looks more interested in the ugly business that goes on when the cameras stop rolling. Cliff is still Cliff, though, and watching him navigate that world should make for some great entertainment.
Netflix will release The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth exclusively in IMAX theaters on November 25, 2026, with a streaming premiere scheduled for December 23, 2026.
