Brendon Gleeson and Jeremy Irons Join ASSASSIN'S CREED Movie
Michael Fassbender's long-in-the-works Assassin's Creed movie just added two more excellent actors to its cast. Deadline reports that Brendan Gleeson and Jeremy Irons have joined the film adaptation of the popular video game, with Gleeson playing Fassbender's father and Irons playing the father of Marion Cotillard's character.
Fassbender is playing Callum Lynch, a character created specifically for the movie. Macbeth director Justin Kurzel is directing, and Michael Kenneth Williams and Ariane Labed co-starring. The Oscar-winning Irons will also play Alfred in Zack Snyder's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Gleeson has a role in the upcoming Ron Howard thriller In The Heart of The Sea. This is one of those pieces of casting in which the second I heard the news, I nodded my head and said out loud and said "of course." These guys are both tremendous actors who will fit perfectly in the world of Assassin's Creed. The film is scheduled to hit theaters on December 21st, 2016.
Callum Lynch discovers he is a descendant of the secret Assassins society through unlocked genetic memories that allow him to relive the adventures of his ancestor, Aguilar, in 15th Century Spain. After gaining incredible knowledge and skills he’s poised to take on the oppressive Knights Templar in the present day.
