Bruce Campbell Clashes with Heckler at the EVIL DEAD RISE Premiere at SXSW
Evil Dead Rise recently premiered at SXSW, and while the majority of fans in attendance loved the movie, there was one guy that hated it. He wasn’t shy about letting the cast and crew know how he felt about the film after they sat down on stage for a Q&A, and it led to a verbal altercation with Bruce Campbell.
You can see footage of the young heckler sitting slouched in a balcony seat in the theater. The heckler is approached by staff members at the event, at which point he yells: “This movie f***ing sucks.”
The heckler then stands up, throws his empty popcorn container up in the air, and proceeds to walk out as the crowd in the audience boos him. As he leaves. the film’s producer Robert Tapert said, “ I think someone got possessed during the movie.”
The heckler then yells something back, at which Campbell yells back: “What are you doing here? Get the f**k out of here.” As Campbell says this the audience erupts into cheers. Tapert then amusingly said: “I don’t get it. He waited all the way through the credits.”
