Bruce Campbell Now Says the Next EVIL DEAD Film Is Titled EVIL DEAD RISE and It's a 'Whole New Ballgame'

Evil Dead franchise star and producer Bruce Campbell has shared some new details regarding the upcoming Evil Dead movie. He previously said the movie was going to be titled Evil Dead Now, but that has changed. The movie is now titled Evil Dead Rise.

Campbell also said that the next movie will be a whole new ballgame and the story will move away from the “cabin in the woods” setting. While talking with Diabolique Magazine, he explained:

“The official name is Evil Dead Rise. We’re getting a new draft in. I don’t think anything will happen until 2021. Full bore ahead, we’re very excited about it. A whole, new ballgame. No more cabin in the woods.”

The movie is being written and directed by Lee Cronin (The Hole in The Ground), and I’m looking forward to seeing what he’s got cooking. I like the fact that they are looking to do something different from the whole cabin in the woods thing. Look what we got when Sam Raimi made Army of Darkness!

Campbell previously talked about the future of the franchise saying:

“From this point forward, they kind of have to stand on their own. Which is fine. And liberating. You could have different heroes, different heroines in this case. This one’s gonna be a little more dynamic. We jut want to keep the series current. And the mantra, really, is that our heroes and heroines are just regular people. That’s what we’re going to continue.”

Campbell also already confirmed that there are multiple Evil Dead films in the works. I’m excited for the future of the Evil Dead franchise, and I hope we get to see some great films come from it!
