CARRIE TV Show Director Wraps Episode 4 and Praises Mike Flanagan’s “Fantastic Script”

The upcoming Carrie series at Prime Video just hit an exciting milestone, and one of its directors couldn’t help but share her enthusiasm.

Axelle Carolyn, who is helming episodes of Mike Flanagan’s new small-screen adaptation of Stephen King’s 1974 classic, revealed she’s wrapped work on Episode 4 and praised the project in a heartfelt post.

Carolyn took to Instagram with a photo of the show’s clapperboard and wrote, “I had a blast, working with a cast and crew who made me feel so welcome. Eternally grateful to Mike Flanagan for trusting with me with another fantastic script –and what a joy to get to play in the world of Stephen King!”

The Prime Video series is described as a “bold and timely reimagining” of King’s story about misfit teenager Carrie White. This version will once again explore how Carrie’s strict and zealot mother, along with the cruelty of her classmates, push her toward unlocking her telekinetic powers and unleashing a tragedy on the town of Chamberlain, Maine.

Summer H. Howell takes on the iconic role of Carrie, while Samantha Sloyan (Midnight Mass, The Fall of the House of Usher) will play her mother, Margaret White.

Joining them are Kate Siegel, Michael Trucco, Katee Sackhoff, Siena Agudong, Alison Thornton, Joel Oulette, Thalia Dudek, Josie Totah, Arthur Conti, Amber Midthunder, and Matthew Lillard.

Flanagan is no stranger to the world of Stephen King. His track record includes Gerald’s Game, Doctor Sleep, and The Life of Chuck.

Carolyn is also a familiar collaborator, having previously directed for Flanagan’s The Haunting of Bly Manor and The Midnight Club. Her other credits include Creepshow, American Horror Story: Double Feature, and Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.

With Carolyn’s excitement about the “fantastic script” and Flanagan’s proven history of bringing King’s work to life, this new take on Carrie sounds like something horror fans won’t want to miss.
