Cary Elwes, Christopher Lloyd, Paul Scheer, and More Join SONIC THE HEDGEHOG Spinoff Series KNUCKLES

The Sonic the Hedgehog spinoff series, Knuckles, which is headed to Paramount+, has locked in its all-star cast, including Cary Elwes (The Princess Bride, Saw), Stockard Channing (Grease, Practical Magic), Christopher Lloyd (Back to the Future, The Tender Bar), Paul Scheer (Veep, The Good Place) and Rob Huebel (Children’s Hospital, Sex Lives of College Girls). Character details are being kept under wraps.

They join previously announced Idris Elba as the titular character Knuckles and Adam Pally, who will reprise his role from the film franchise as Wade Whipple, with recurring cast members Edi Patterson, Julian Barratt, Scott Mescudi, Ellie Taylor, and guest stars Rory McCann and Tika Sumpter reprising her role as Maddie.

The live-action series will follow Knuckles on a hilarious and action-packed journey of self-discovery as he agrees to train Wade as his protégé and teach him the ways of the Echidna warrior.

Jeff Fowler, who directed both Sonic the Hedgehog films, will direct the pilot episode and executive produce the series. Sonic the Hedgehog 2 writer John Whittington wrote the pilot for Knuckles and serves as head writer and executive producer on the series. Brian Schacter and James Madejski are also writers.

When previously talking about the Knuckles series, Fowler said: “He's such a wonderful character that there are so many different ways that you can go [in the series] that fans could really get excited by.”

The series takes place between the films Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and Sonic the Hedgehog 3, and it’s set to be released on December 20, 2024.
