Casting Update and Character Details Revealed For Netflix's SABRINA Series
Netflix is moving forward with their own take on Sabrina the Teenage Witch that will be a companion to Riverdale. We know that Sabrina will be played by Kiernan Shipka, and now we know that Aunt Hilda will be played by Lucy Davis (Wonder Woman). In addition to Davis, it has been announced that Michelle Gomez will be on the show as Mary Wardell, Sabrina’s favorite teacher, and Chance Perdomo will be Sabrina’s English cousin Ambrose Spellman. Mary Wardell has been described as follows:
“When she is possessed by the devil’s handmaiden, Madam Satan, Ms. Wardell turns into a sultry, cunning manipulator, always trying to lure Sabrina down the Path of Night.”
Ambrose, on the other hand, has this on his plate:
“Placed under house arrest by the Witches Council, Ambrose is forbidden from leaving the funeral home where he lives with the Spellman women. Witty, puckish and pan-sexual, he is one of Sabrina’s partners in crime, always up for mischief.”
Hilda sounds like she’ll be a lot of fun, too:
“More nurturing than Zelda, Hilda’s motherly nature and warm sense of humor belie a wicked, ghoulish streak. She is as adept at brewing spite jars against her family’s enemies as she is at concocting love potions for the students at Baxter High.”
There is still no release date for Sabrina, but it’ll be fun to see who else they get for the show.
