Channing Tatum Says AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY Could Be the Biggest Movie of the Next Decade

The hype for Avengers: Doomsday is already super-high, and Channing Tatum just poured rocket fuel on the hype fire. The actor, who plays Gambit in the upcoming Marvel crossover, says fans are in for something truly massive, something that could redefine blockbuster cinema for years to come.

“Look, everyone in the world is going to see this movie,” Tatum told Deadline. “It’s hard to say this because, I mean, you hear these things and go, ‘Of course’. But they’ve topped themselves every time. This will be the biggest movie of next year and maybe even the next 10 years.”

That’s a bold claim coming from anyone, but when it’s coming from someone inside the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it carries some weight. According to Tatum, the excitement began the moment he cracked open the script.

“The scope of it, what they’re trying to do… what the Russos have cooked up – when I read it, I was just like, ‘How are they going to do this?’. It was an Everest of a mountain to climb.

“I am still in awe,” Tatum said, referring to Joe and Anthony Russo, the directing duo behind Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame.

While Tatum didn’t reveal any major plot details (Marvel snipers are probably watching), he did hint that Gambit is far from a background player this time around.

“I do so much action in this movie, but that was just a small part,” he shared, admitting he even injured his hamstring during one intense scene. It sounds like Avengers: Doomsday will push its heroes, and the actors playing them, to their limits.

Tatum previously compared Avengers: Doomsday to Deadpool & Wolverine, suggesting the film could deliver even more jaw-dropping, crowd-pleasing moments. Considering the star power already confirmed, including Robert Downey Jr. taking on the role of Doctor Doom, that’s not hard to believe.

Marvel is clearly pulling out all the stops for this one, and with Tatum this fired up about it, the anticipation just hit another level.

Avengers: Doomsday hits theaters on December 18, 2026, and if Tatum’s right, the world better be ready, because this could be the cinematic event of the decade.
