Channing Tatum Wants a GAMBIT Solo Movie So Bad He "Would Kill Kittens" to Make It Happen

After finally getting to play Gambit in Deadpool & Wolverine, Channing Tatum is hoping more than ever that he will be able to make a solo Gambit movie one day, and he is willing to do terrible things to make it happen.

While on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Tatum reflected on his time trying to get a Gambit movie off the ground he said: “It was at Fox first. I worked on it for like six years trying to get a stand-alone [movie] to happen.

“Then, right on the one-yard line, we were about to make the movie and then Fox got bought by Disney. Kevin Feige, who runs Marvel, I love him so much. He literally was like, ‘Look, I love Gambit, I just don’t know how to do it right now.

“I don’t know how he fits into what we’re doing so I need to have a minute to figure it out.’ Now, we’ve sort of cracked a little bit of a code.”

When asked if he’d still be willing to star in a Gambit solo movie, Tatum said: “I would kill kittens to make [one]. I’d do lots of terrible things to make that happen.”

Don’t worry, I’m sure it won’t come to Tatum actually killing kittens. The project will either happen one day or it won’t. But no one is going to make Tatum kill any animals to make it happen.

Tatum went on to praise Ryan Reynolds for allowing his live-action version of Gambit to finally come to life in Deadpool & Wolverine.

“This industry is a really interesting thing. I can honestly say that not one single person is just more of a class-act and cares more than that man. He took Gambit out of truly the grave.

“He was just nothing and nowhere. [Reynolds] was like, ‘I want this for you, I want this in the movie, and I want to see it.’ He made it happen and I’ll forever be grateful to him.”

I though Tatum was awesome in the role of Gambit! He was freakin’ hilarious and I think fans are much more open to a Gambit solo film now that we’ve seen him in action, but I also think it’s a long shot.

We’ll just have to wait and see what happens!
