Charlie Cox Calls DAREDEVIL: BORN AGAIN Season 2 the “Final Season” and Teases Something Never Seen in the Comics
Charlie Cox just referred to Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 as the “final season.” While it’s not an official confirmation that the Disney+ series is ending, the comment has definitely sparked fan discussion.
The Daredevil revival brought Cox back as Matt Murdock alongside Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk and Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle. Season 2 is set to drop in March 2026 as part of the MCU’s Phase 6, but Cox’s latest comments have fans wondering if that might be the last time we see this version of the Man Without Fear.
Speaking at a panel in a clip shared by GalaxyCon, Cox discussed the new black costume seen in leaked set photos, praising it as his favorite yet. He also teases something that we’ve never seen before with Daredevil, even in the comics.
“There have been some leaked set photos. So the one [black costume] that we just finished with in Season 2 of Born Again, I think is my favorite for a couple of reasons. One, because it is badass. But also because every suit that we’ve had so far in some way is represented in the comics. We’ve had a couple of red ones; two or three red ones.
“We’ve had the She-Hulk yellow and red. But there’s a particular — there’s something I can’t [say] without giving away too much — but there’s something that we do in this final season that doesn’t exist in the comics. It is unique to our show. And so I’m pretty excited about that.”
That “final season” wording has fans on edge, but it’s worth noting Cox may have simply meant “latest” season. Marvel hasn’t made any official statement about the series ending after Season 2, so we don’t know for sure.
Even if Daredevil: Born Again does wrap up after next year, the Punisher isn’t going anywhere. Bernthal is set to star in a new Marvel television special, though details and a release date are still under wraps. He’s also set to return in Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
Until then, we’ll just have to wait and see whether Cox’s slip was an accidental choice of words, or a subtle way of preparing fans for a bittersweet goodbye to Hell’s Kitchen’s blind hero.
