Charlie Cox Will Reportedly Reprise His Daredevil Role in SPIDER-MAN 3
Marvel fans have been treated with some exciting Spider-Man 3 news lately. Just yesterday we learned that Alfred Molina would be back as Doctor Octopus, Andrew Garfield will be back as his version of Spider-Man, Tobey Maguire is in talks to return, Kirsten Dunst will return as Mary Jane Watson, and Emma Stone could “reprise her role as Gwen Stacy, pregnancy permitting.” That’s on top of Jamie Foxx coming back as Electro.
Well, a new report has surfaced that is sure to get Marvel fans even more hyped for Spider-Man 3! According to Murphy’s Multiverse and several of their “trusted sources”, Charlie Cox will reprise his role as Daredevil in the movie! In fact, they say that his big debut in the film has been locked in for several months already.
A lot of fans have been hoping to see Cox back in the role of Daredevil since the series was canceled at Netflix and there’s a fan campaign to revive the series. Well, if this report turns out to be true, the future of Daredevil might be bright. As for the rest of the Daredevil cast, as of right now, Cox is the only one that is coming to Spider-Man 3.
Again, if this turns out to be true, it’ll be interesting to see how exactly Daredevil is utilized in the story. This isn’t the first time we’ve heard this news. Several months ago, Kevin Smith said:
“I heard another piece of good fucking news. Did You hear that Spider-Man, the new Spider-Man movie, gonna have a lawyer in it? […] Charlie Cox, they’re bringing in as Matt Murdock. That’s been the rumor online and they say that’s like the one that like Marvel’s like god damn it how did that get out?”
I think it was only a matter of time before Kevin Feige and Marvel Studios decided to play with Daredevil again. We just didn’t know how and when it would happen. I hope this latest report turns out to be true, because it would be so much fun to see Tom Holland’s Spider-Man fight alongside Charlie Cox’s Daredevil. Regardless of what happens or how this plays out, I can’t wait to see what the future holds for Spider-Man and Daredevil.
Spider-Man 3 is being directed by Jon Watts and it also stars Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange, Zendaya, Marisa Tomei, Tony Revolori, and Jacob Batalon. The movie is currently set to be released on December 17th, 2021.
