Chris Evans' Version of Steve Rogers in AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY Reportedly Revealed
The version of Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers in Avengers: Doomsday has reportedly been revealed. When it was announced that Evans was cast in the Marvel movie, one thing that the report noted was that he may not be suiting up as Captain America.
I knew he would be playing a version of Steve Rogers and since it’s leaked out, I can tell you the version of Rogers that Evans will be playing.
SPOILER ALERT for those of you who don’t want to know. The news comes from trusted Hollywood insider Jeff Sneider.
Speaking on The Hot Mic podcast with John Rocha, Sneider said, “I’ve heard who the character is… I was having the conversation today, and someone mentioned it… Nomad.”
While this is just a rumor, I’ve also heard this a few months ago. At one point Marvel was actually developing a Nomad film for Chris Evans to star in that would’ve seen Steve Roger’ss Nomad returning the Infinity Stones to their rightful places, but that movie was scrapped.
So, it makes sense that Marvel would hold this character into Doomsday, and it will be interesting to see how he is introduced and utilized in the story if it is true.
But my guess is that this version of Nomad is Earth-616’s Steve Rogers, and that he became Nomad after leaving with the Infinity Stones in Avengers: Endgame.
Nomad is the alternate identity that Steve Rogers takes on in 1974’s Captain America #180 comic. In this storyline, he abandons his Captain America moniker after losing faith in the U.S. government and becomes a man serving no country.
What do you think about Evan’s possibly taking on the role of Nomad in Avengers: Doomsday. What are some of your theories about his involvement?
Avengers: Doomsday arrives on May 1, 2026.
