Chris Hemsworth is in Talks To Join The New MEN IN BLACK Film
A few weeks ago we learned that Straight Outta Compton and Fate of the Furious director F. Gary Grey was in talks to direct the new Men in Black film at Sony Pictures. Well, according to Variety, he is officially on board to direct and Chris Hemsworth is in talks to star in the film!
According to the report, Hemsworth would play one of the new agents in the spinoff. I like Hemsworth, so for his sake, I hope this new Men in Black film turns out good and not like that unfortunate Ghostbusters reboot.
There's no information on what this next installment of the franchise will be about, but we do know for a fact that it will not include Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones, who starred in the original films. The script for the film comes from Iron Man scribes Matt Holloway and Art Marcum.
This film is also separate from the other spinoff film that would crossover with Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill's 21 Jump Street. I'm sure they won't move forward with that until they see how this new film turns out.
The studio fast-tracked the project and they want to start shooting in the fall. The released date is set for May 17, 2019.
